A fun new class for children is opening in Putney on Wednesday 2nd November – POP MANIA. Brought to the area by Emma’s Academy, who already run classes in Street Dance, Cheerleading and Musical Theatre for children in Roehampton plus Adult classes, this class will allow children to bring out their inner pop stars by learning and performing song and dance routines from their favourite stars.
Principal Emma Weir already runs this subject at some of her other branches and says it always goes down well. ‘Children love performing and by picking songs from current pop idols, they recognise the pieces and enjoy them’ she says ‘so we pick songs by popular performers like Justin, Beyonce and more.’
Emma’s first Pop Mania class performed a piece on stage at the Dance, Drama and Music Extravaganza in Birmingham this summer (see photo) and enjoyed being on a large stage with full lights and sound. The Academy hopes to offer this opportunity to the Putney class too!
