The new Roehampton Family Hub has been officially opened at 166 Roehampton Lane (SW15 4HR).
The ribbon was cut this Friday (4 October) by Councillor Simon Hogg, the Leader of Wandsworth Council, creating a newly refurbished space for families to access vital free services under one roof.
The centre aims to help children and families get a better start, and improve their future. From childcare support, birth registrations, and mental health services to after-school activities and employment advice, people of all ages will be able to access services at times that meet their needs.
The Hub’s facilities also include a dedicated youth room and IT area, equipped with upgraded wi-fi, where residents can study, job search, or simply browse online.
Free services at the Hub include:
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
- Midwifery Services
- Educational Psychologists
- Citizens Advice Bureau
- English Language Lessons and Digital Skills Sessions
- Domestic Abuse Helpline
- Rackets Cubed Social Supermarket and much more
The Family Hub is one of the first major improvements promised as part of the Alton Renewal Plan.
A large number of people attended the launch in Roehampton
Councillor Kate Stock, Cabinet Member for Children, said: “The Roehampton Family Hub is not just a building – it is a commitment to every family, every parent, and every young person in this community. It’s a space where everyone is welcome and can find the support they need to succeed and grow.
“We’ve listened closely to the community’s requests for better facilities and services, and this Hub is a reflection of our deep commitment to investing in Roehampton and the Alton estate. We believe that by investing in spaces like this, we’re investing in the future of our community.”
Kate Moon, Chief Executive of Little Village, one of the Hub’s partners, said, “We are delighted to be continuing our Bundles in Partnership programme, providing clothes and other essentials to babies and children under five, from the Roehampton Family Hub. Our mission of “bringing about change for children and families through the power of sharing, reusing, and connecting” is right at the heart of this community space and it is incredible to see the range of services on offer here to the residents of Roehampton.”
The Roehampton Family Hub is open weekdays from 9am-5pm.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.
Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
