PUTNEY'S
MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT TONY COLMAN
I
am very privileged
to be able to
announce some
excellent news
that is truly
hot off the press!
11
schools in Putney
will today receive
School Achievement
Awards - which
range from about
£3,000
up to £32,000!
The Awards have
been made by
the Department
for Education,
and are meant
to reward the
staff and support
staff of schools
that have performed
particularly
well recently.

|
On
top of that, every school that has come out of special measures
is receiving an award - so good news for The Alton School
in Roehampton, which came out of special measures recently,
and receives an award of £5,820.
I
have listed the schools below and their awards, the actual
value of which is dependent on factors such as school size,
with a minimum for schools with higher staffing ratios.

I have written to all Headteachers of the schools, but would
like to have on record my congratulations to all the teachers,
support staff, Governors, and of course, the pupils of all
these schools.
Secondly
I would like to bring up the local Council elections that
will be held on Thursday 2nd May this year. You have until
the 24th April to register for a postal vote - either for
just this election, or for future elections as well. So if
you think you might not be able to make it to the polling
station on the day, simply apply for a postal vote.
In
fact you don't even need to give a reason to have a postal
vote now. To ask for a postal vote application, either call
the Labour party offices in Felsham Road and leave a message,
on 020 8788 8961, or call the Council election department
on 020 8871 6023.
To
check if I am your MP, please
log on to www.locata.co.uk/commons
and enter your full postcode.
I
have set up a website www.tonycolman.org.uk
which I hope you will use and enjoy.
