A trip to the Algarve not only gave Georgie a personal best and a silver medal, she came home with an invitation to represent Great Britain at the Junior World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria in November. In Sofia she will compete in the 13-14 age group against tumblers from all around the world.
In Loule Georgie qualified for the finals in 5th place, but having produced a new PB on her tumble - a double straight, she finished in second place, just 0.1 behind a French tumbler.

Georgie told PutneySW15.com: "I had a brilliant time in Portugal. It was great to be competing as part of the British Team and i’m really pleased I managed to nail my final tumble and get the silver medal. I’m really excited to have been selected to compete in the World Championships again too. Loule was great preparation and now i’m looking forward to getting back in the gym and working hard on new skills and really perfecting my tumbles so that I can put in a strong performance at the Worlds."
What is tumbling?
Tumbling is a form of acrobatic activity that involves flips, jumps, rolls, somersaults and handsprings linked together into performance routines and usually performed on a padded floor and choreographed to music. In many ways, a tumbling routine is similar to the floor exercise in gymnastics, although it does not include as many elements of formal dance. Unlike the other elements of gymnastics, tumbling uses no special equipment such as a vault or pommel horse.
