Forthcoming Sunday Recitals

Sunday 20 October (4pm – 5:15pm)

Cabaret: Frau, that's what I call music!
Feminist cabaret with Anna Pool & Amy J Payne: Dietrich, Lemper, La Voix…

The cabaret has given rise to some of the most boundary pushing female performers of the 20th & 21st Centuries. Yet the songwriters behind these performers, those who get remembered, are usually male. Amy and Anna invite you to a relaxed and intimate cabaret of words and music from an array of female songwriters. Expect riotous laughter, quiet reflection, and plenty of joyful surprises as we journey from Piaf to protests to…penguins?

Sunday 27 October (4pm – 5:15pm)

La Trompette Chantante - The Singing Trumpet

Aaron Akugbo trumpet, Zeynep Özsuca piano

Aaron and Zeynep present an introduction to French trumpet staples in the repertoire alongside female composers Lili Boulanger and Florence B. Price through arrangements of songs. This recital aims to show the versatility of the trumpet with an emphasis on its lyrical and singing qualities.
