The local Putney residents who are concerned at the Council's proposals to build a 2FE primary school and 24 luxury flats on the Putney Hospital site have formed a new community group called 'Friends of Putney Common' (FoPC).

A spokesman told PutneySW15.com:
" We're very pleased to announce that the Rt Hon Justine Greening has agreed to Chair a residents meeting to be organised by FoPC at 8pm on Monday 15th of October. We expect the format of the meeting to be as follows:
Introduction (Rt. Hon. Justine Greening, MP)
Case for the development of a 2FE school and 24 flats (London Borough of Wandsworth)
Case for refusal (Friends of Putney Common)
Question and answers
Way Forward (Rt. Hon. Justine Greening, MP)"

He continued: " We have today sent invitations to Mr Govindia at Wandsworth Borough Council to ask him to let us know who from the Council will be representing their views and also provided information about the meeting to Jim Maddan, Rosemary Torrington and Michael Ryder who all agreed earlier to attend such a meeting."

The meeting will be at All Saints Church on the common opposite the hospital, from 7.30 for 8pm.

The group are also launching an online survey which lets people know about Friends of Putney Common and which also gives them a chance to say what they would like to see on the site when the hospital disappears. This can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/FoPCsurvey.

The survey is only 9 questions long and takes very little time to complete. The results of the survey will be released at the meeting.
