A popular dining spot in Putney has been included in this year’s The Good Food Guide as one of the top 100 local restaurants in the country.

Home SW15 attracted enough votes among the 60,000 cast to earn a place in the list.

The guide’s review said of the restaurant which opened on Upper Richmond Road in September 2019, “With its buzz, bonhomie and fairly priced food, Rebecca Mascarenhas's hugely popular all-day diner is ‘the epitome of a good local restaurant’.”

It was noted that loyal customers helped raise over £40,000 to keep in business during the pandemic and the team have repaid its supporters ‘in spades’ as the “hardworking, friendly, kind, positive and inspiring’ staff go out of their way to meet and greet everyone who comes through the door.”

The restaurant is rated as good in all categories including warmth, deliciousness and uniqueness.

The interior of the establishment is praised but is not seen as the main attraction with the guide saying, “What dazzles is the simple, well-prepared comfort food with its penchant for flavour – seen in dishes such as beetroot-cured salmon with dill or bavette steak with a bourbon and peppercorn sauce. Brunch and lunch menus lure in the locals, although we dropped by for an early-summer dinner. A cauliflower cheese croquette with aïoli, followed by end-of-season Norfolk asparagus served with a crispy poached egg and hazelnut vinaigrette set the tone. “

Craig Gordon, managing partner at Home SW15, said they were delighted to be included and gave thanks to all their ‘fantastic followers’.

Other London restaurants to make the list included Giulia in Shepherd’s Bush and Sam’s Waterside in Brentford. Mambow in Clapton was voted the best in the capital.
