Strong April not carried through to May

After the surprisingly strong performance of Putney property prices in April, May has proved something of a disappointment with the average price achieved coming in at £476,572.
The data from the Land Registry is showing that the average price of a Putney property sold during April was £511,061 compared to £467.612 in March.
Volumes continue to be exceptionally low so the true direction of the market remains difficult to determine but, as yet, the official data gives no indication of prices being in a tailspin.
The market previously peaked at over £500,000 in the fourth quarter of last year.
