College House and Avershaw House sales boost volumes

The latest sales data released by the Land Registry suggest that Putney property has seen increased turnover during June with more activity at the lower end of the market.
During the month 109 homes have been reported sold so far at an average price of £444,429. This is well above the average price for recent months although the number of sales have increased significantly. This appears to be mainly due to the impact of sales of flats in College House and Avershaw House.
There were only 2 properties sold for over £1 million compared to 8 the month before. June's sales included one in Hazlewell Road that went for over £2 million.
The June data from Land Registry's National House Price Index shows an annual price decrease of 2.5% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £161,479. There was no monthly change from May to June.
The only region in England and Wales to experience an increase in its average property value over the last 12 months is London with a movement of 0.8%.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during April 2011, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by -7 per cent to 48,704 from 52,272 in April 2010. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million increased by 45 per cent between April 2010 and April 2011, from 549 to 798.

The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database.
