House on St. Simon's Avenue sells for over £4 Million

Property prices in the SW15 post code area continue to trade at around record levels according to figures from the Land Registry.
During the month of April there were 58 properties sold at an average price of £586,156. This is just above the all-time high for a three month period which was achieved in the third quarter of 2011.
One reason for the high average was the sale of a house on St. Simon's Avenue for £4,050,000. This is currently the sixth most expensive property ever to change hands in the area.
In all, seven of the properties changing hands during the month went for over £1million.
The April data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price decrease of 1% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £160,417.
London remains the best performing area in the country with prices rising by 5.1% to £360,721 over the same period.
The most up-to-date figures available show that, the number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in February 2012 decreased by 3 per cent to 462 from 478 in February 2011.
The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database. The latest reported sales are given in the table below.
