Winners will be announced at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane

Merton Council, in partnership with the New Wimbledon Theatre and the Wimbledon Civic Theatre Trust, has been shortlisted for a top arts award, with prizes to be presented at a gala night hosted by Michael Portillo (pictured left).

The council is one of the finalists for the Public Private and Partnership Achievement of the Year for their joint efforts with the Wimbledon theatre organisations in the ‘Raising Aspiration Through the Arts’ campaign.

This brought together local people, organisations and groups who combined facilities, expertise and enthusiasm for the arts to improve cultural opportunities within Merton.

The winners will be announced at the gala night of the Municipal Journal Achievement Awards on June 24 at the Hilton Hotel in Park Lane, London.
