Dover House Singers Set for Summer Concert |
||||
First time the usually annual event has been held since 2019
The Dover House Singers has been working hard to prepare for its summer concert. Putney’s Community Choir will be performing at St. Mary’s Church on Saturday 16 July 1 from 7pm. It promises to be an extra special occasion for both the choir and the audience as this is its first summer concert since 2019. Songs for a Summer Evening will be led by musical director Carl Speck. As always, there will be some songs familiar to all (Our House, Sing and Go the Distance), as well as a few unfamiliar gems (If Ye Love Me, Down to the River to Pray, two rounds by John Krumm). The concert is free to attend, with donations for refreshments and our raffle, supported by local businesses, going to our charity, Regenerate-RISE. Moving forward, the choir will be meeting throughout July and August for some relaxed and informal Summer Sessions, where it invites anyone to pop along and learn a few pieces from its previous repertoire. Dover House Singers is always looking for new voices and its contact details can be found on its web site.
