The recent concert by the Dover House Singers has been hailed as a success with an outstanding performance and a huge sum raised for charity.

The local choir performed its summer concert at St. Mary’s Church on Putney High Street last Saturday (15 July).

Highlights of the evening were the choir's rendition of Moon River, the medley of Beatles songs and the tribute to the Everly Brothers.

The proceeds of the concert from the raffle and other donations will be given to Regenerate RISE, to top up the total, already in excess of £13,000, donated by the Singers to date.

Janis Humberstone said afterwards, “It seems as if every concert performed by the Dover House Singers is better than the last, but the latest which took place in St Mary's Church on 15 July exceeded all expectations. The performance was joyful, and if the enthusiastic applause was anything to go by, seemed to strike a chord with the audience. Although the idea of a singalong may not be everyone's cup of tea, the entire audience joined in unreservedly with Daydream Believer and Do-Re-Mi.”

The new term begins on 13 September at St Margaret's Church. Rehearsals are every Wednesday evening.

Dover House Singers is always looking for new voices and its contact details can be found on its web site.
