A women in her eighties is in a critical condition after being hit by a motorcycle on Putney High Street on Thursday afternoon (9 May).

The collision occurred shortly before 4.49pm near the junction with Lacy Road.

She was treated at the scene along with the motorcyclist who was knocked from their bike. A London Air Ambulance helicopter was called and she was taken to a major trauma centre.

The motorcyclist’s injuries are not life threatening and no arrests were made.

The police say that their efforts to reach the woman’s next of kin continue.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said, “We were called at 4.49pm on Thursday, 9 May, to reports of a road traffic collision on Putney High Street.

“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London’s air ambulance.

“We treated two patients at the scene and took a woman to a London Major Trauma centre.”

Putney High Street was closed after the collision but has since reopened.
